Handling shipping and postage paid on orders
Although you may charge very accurate amounts to cover postage on your Orders, your actual costs incurred in shipping and packing can differ from this amount. To ensure you accurately track how much you spend on postage, it is important to log both shipping charged and shipping paid amounts.
To log how much you charged the customer to ship their order, ensure you have filled out the “Shipping” field on the Order (About order shipping)
To log actual postage expenses, create a new Purchase and ensure the category is set to “Postage.”
If you have a connected integration, check before adding postage manually.
Etsy shipping label costs are imported automatically and appear in Purchases under the Postage category. Adding them again by hand will double-count them. Check your Purchases list first, and only add postage manually for labels bought outside your sales channel.
