About product bundling
Learn how to track your inventory of sets or bundles using components.
Bundles and sets can be structured in the app using components to handle the production of each individual product in the set. This allows you to create infinite combinations of your products.
For a detailed step-by-step with screenshots on how to structure your products to create bundles, please see our Introduction to Product Bundles tutorial.
Example: I sell soaps as individual bars (Lemon and Rose) and part of a set.
To combine my soaps in sets, I would first create each of my bars as components:
- Lemon Soap
- Rose Soap
Each component would contain the recipe of materials used to create a batch of the product. When I make a batch of soap, I will manufacture the component to increase the stock of my soap as a material. As the finished soaps can now be treated as input materials, I can use this as an ingredient in any of my products.
The next step here is to create the following products:
- Lemon Soap
- Rose Soap
- Soap Set
The component must then be added to the recipe for each product to represent the item sold. For example, the Lemon Soap needs to contain a recipe containing the Lemon Soap component, and the soap set product needs a recipe containing Lemon Soap and Rose Soap.

From here, whenever you make a new batch of your soaps, you will manufacture your component. To increase the stock of your products, you'll want to create a manufacture of the product - this will decrease your component stock and increase your product on-hand stock.
Add an existing product as a component
Already selling an item on its own and want to include it in a bundle too? Use the Componentize option to convert it into a component without losing its recipe or sales history.
- Go to the product you want to use as a component.
- Hover your mouse over the vertical ellipsis ⋮ to the left of the product name.
- Select Componentize from the menu.
This instantly creates a component with the same name and recipe as your product, and updates the product's own recipe to reference the new component, so it keeps selling and manufacturing exactly as it did before. You can then add the new component to any other product's recipe, including a bundle.

Reducing and increasing component stock
Components can't be added directly to an order — orders track the products you sell, not the materials that go into them. To reduce a component's stock when you sell one, manufacture the product instead: running that manufacture uses up the components in its recipe, the same way as the example above.
The same logic applies in reverse. A purchase adds stock for materials you buy in — it won't add stock to a component. To increase a component's stock, manufacture the component itself, just like the Lemon Soap and Rose Soap example above.
Selling a bundle without componentising its contents
Selling a ready-made gift box or set and don't want to convert every item inside it into a component first? A product's recipe can only reference materials or components, so if you want manufacturing the bundle to automatically use up stock of what's inside it, each item needs to exist as a component first. There's no way to reference a regular product directly in another product's recipe.
If you don't need that stock link, for example you assemble boxes ahead of time and don't want a manufacture for every one you make, you can still sell the box as its own product with no recipe attached, and record its stock with a stock adjustment instead. Just be aware this won't automatically reduce the stock of the individual items that went into it: you'll need to adjust those yourself.
Automanufacturing bundles

Your bundle workflow can also be completely automated using the Auto Manufacture feature. To auto-manufacture your product, set this on the product whenever an order is placed for it. To also automate the component manufacture, ensure that this is set on the component in each product recipe in your set.
Removing Automanufactured product bundles
If you'd like to have automanufactured Components removed automatically for canceled orders, the remove automanufactures setting for canceled orders should be enabled. If an order is imported with a "canceled" status, the app will not create an automanufacture for that order. Also, if an existing order is updated to "canceled," the app will automatically remove any associated auto-manufactures. This maintains accurate manufacturing records and prevents unnecessary manufactures, keeping inventory accurate and up-to-date.
Note: If the Remove Auto Manufacture setting is not enabled, you will need to remove the manufactures associated with canceled orders manually.
